While there are still many bones one can pick about Fallout 4, it's generally clear that Bethesda listened to a lot of the complaints given about 3 (and even New Vegas, to a lesser extent) when working on it.

But why would the Resource Wars even happen if these Matter Replicators were so commonplace? However, the Old World Blues DLC solved this by having records in the Big Empty explain that the Sierra Madre Vending Machines were actually extremely state-of-the-art experimental machines before the War, and everyone that said otherwise during Dead Money was lying to the Courier, whether they knew it or not. However, a major part of the Fallout series' backstory is the Resource Wars, which had the world tearing itself apart over the last few remaining resources left on Earth. The Vending Machines are explained as being Matter Replicators, and characters with knowledge of the Pre-War world (like Father Elijah and Dean Domino) act like they were a common appliance before the Great War.

Hopefully when the 1.3 fix comes out next week for consoles I can test (I have PS4) Any pc users with 1.3 patch installed test assigning tasks to companions yet to see if this is fixed? I think this is just a general bug and nothing triggers it OR many things can cause it. Oh and just for interested parties this first happened to me after I made Piper handle the sanctuary/red rocket truck stop supply line. Interestingly though once I assigned Piper to gardening using the commands I would normal press (although the menu was missing just exit was there) and it worked I've since tried this again and it just picks whatever option i'm hovered over in workshop (structures, furniture, etc) and doesn't work. Piper and Valentine settlement/workshop command menu is gone for me. I basically just started the game so I can tell you it has nothing to do with power armor or maxing out affinity with companion.

Really hope someone know how to fix this :/ Pretty sad because I like my companion to work too (more character than a normal settler with no name) by the way by assign, I mean the usually option which are Command, Move, Supply Line. So, basically the companion that I still can command in the settlement is the one that I never take them as a companion and dismiss them. I fast travel there and wait for him, when he's there the option to assign/move/supply is gone too. There, I dismiss him and send him back to Sanctuary. So, I use option that he travels with me as a companion, and then I fast travel to random location. I went there and the option to assign is still available with him. I use option "move" to move him to Starlight Drive-In. Update: So, I try to figure this out by going to Red Rocket where Hancock is a companion that I still can assign him task in my game. This also happen with Maccready on Red Rocket Station but not Hancock,Strong who are there as well. Right now I cannot assign Piper, Cait, Codsworth but Preston, Curie at Sanctuary. For awhile I didn't notice but I must have assigned the other person to be on that same look out post and that could cause it, although I am not sure that is the reason either. This is not happened to all of my companions in the settlement.įor example, before this happened, I could assign Cait as a look out. Hello, somehow some companions lost an option to assign/move/go or anything.
